Representation

•I think our film is fair as it as nothing to do with  stereotypical things  •Were challenging representation with our main character trying to see show he can drum •I don't think edits should be made to our characters as we want every scene to be natural with few editing

Supporting character analysis

The supporting character is a Hispanic 5'9 guy with long black hair. His costuming is black pants and shirt. His props are gonna be lighting set. He is a weird but outspoken guy who usually only talks to his friends. His mental state is good and his motivation are his grades and volleyball. His physiological state is good as he plays volleyball.

Main character analysis

The main character is white with blonde hair with the style being quiff. It's a guy and he is 5'9. The characters costuming is just blue pants and a white t-shirt, with a drum set. He is a very happy and joyful person who loves to talk to different people. Their mental state is good and there motivation comes from his marching band. His physiological state is healthy as he does stuff everyday like marching band.

Costuming

Image
Our choice of costume is to be a normal kid and a professional musician. A normal cloth for boys is jeans and a white t-shirt and for the musician all black is the basic way to look professional. The costume for the kid adds to his character because it shows that he is just a basic guy with nothing except for drumming. For the musician it adds a dark overlay on the character making him dark, which means that he could be mysterious and rude.

Group Member and Brainstorm Blog Post

I am working in a group of 4: shade, Xavier b, me, and Samuel. We are thinking of making a film opener similar to whiplash because shade is a drummer. We also like this idea because we can use the band room.

Mood Board

Image
My mood board is about comedy and why I find it interesting is because I like to laugh a lot and I find myself very funny. This is relatable to me as I'm a funny person. My mood board represents the theme comedy because I put the basic funny things like the emotion laughing and funny movies I liked watching. There's also memes which all of us found funny at one point. There's also the happy and sad masks that are symbols of the traditional division between comedy and tragedy in literature, theater, and song.

Preparing to Film

The challenges of preparing for the film are going to be getting permission to go into the band room and with the lack of lighting it may be hard to find the right lighting. The easy part is going to be recording in general as I see what were doing as simple. Also I think finding the supplies will be pretty easy because we have most of the stuff already. Shade will be an actor in the film and so will Samuel. Xavier B will be the camera man and I will be the editor. We are going to be filming with a special camera. actors Our actors are Shade and Samuel and are apart of our group.  costumes Costumes are the easy part because all of us already have to clothes we need. Props These will be in the band room and one of my partners has a bald cap. Locations The locations will be all within the school to make it more accessible for all of us  Dates and times These will be made before we start recording and during the record Scripts These will be printed for all of us Film equipment This wi...

Initial Storyboard

Image
How we made our storyboard is by breaking it into sections and giving everyone a part but we wanted to really focus on the details because we all cant draw. Shade did the drawing, Samuel the description, Xavier B did top descriptions, and i did the cuts and flow of the images.

Movie Opener Brainstorming & Research

Rise- Film Opening The film opener is good in its camera placements and there audio. when he puts on his head phones it gets louder and when he takes them off, it gets lower. I liked the synchrony between the music and the actions in the opener. Dear Lover The sad music fit the vibe pretty well. The shots in the beginning showed a pretty basic opener for dramatic movies. Dare to Thrill Film Opening Daniel Garzon The transition into the scenes were cool with the music made a really happy feeling. Always Watching It started with a very dramatic opener. The way thru repeat words or gradually rise is very smart and adds to the scary aspect. White Coat The dark gloomy feeling is smart in creating suspense as I was always waiting for something. The music really added to it to with the ominous sound. After these openers what I've taken into account is what music we need to use and we need to focus on camera placement.
