Finished Project Feelings

ISSUES Our main issue in the beginning was finding an idea that we could all agree on, we fixed this by looking at were best at and remembering our main character can be a drummer. Our next issue was getting everyone to do their job because we were all slacking off, we fixed this by constantly reminding everyone to do their part. Our last issues was editing as editing was difficult because we didn't know how to, we fixed this by watching many tutorials. CHANGES We originally thought we could remake our film opener from the movie Whiplash, but we figured out we couldn't. So we had to scrap the idea, but we still wanted to keep the drummer idea so we decided to make a whole new script. LEARNED I learned how to edit because of all the tutorials I watched. INFORMATION USED The most important material that we used in our project was the shots and angles we were taught in class as we used a extreme close up in one of our scenes.

Editing Post 2

Image
I have spent around an hour editing. I was the editor so I was the only one editing but I got constructive criticism from my members. We did need to do additional filming as we only got our first part done but now we have fully finished.

Updated Storyboard

Image
We completely scrapped what our first storyboard was and remade it because we couldn't have used a direct copy from the film Whiplash. The difference is were now showing our main character doing something completely different.

Lighting

We've used the garage yellow lighting to give an thrill feel to our viewers. It changed how viewers felt because it gave them the at home feeling as there looking at similar lighting in their own house.

Group Dynamics

The group has been cooperating pretty well with a downfall of one person having a hard time understanding. other than that everyone's been pulling there weight except for our main character who has been slacking on recording the parts we need to edit. but other than those missteps were looking like we'll finish.

Sound

I have been the one editing with the mobile software capcut. we've chosen to use diegetic sound with occasional non diegetic sound because of the environment we live in there's no room for non diegetic. The music will be the drums our main character is playing.

Color use

The use of color were using is dark shades of colors to give the viewer a laid back feel as there listening to the drums. Were making the room he wakes up in the dark and the rest of the house light to show the personality of the room and character.

Editing Post 1

Image
There are no effects were using so far, and were going to be doing a flicker transition also a cuts and a fades. The biggest problem for us has been finding the right transitions because I have never edited that much before. Ive been watching guides on how to do certain things on capcut to hopefully make it easier.

First Day Filming

Image
The first day of filming was slow as we didn't get much done. We recorded some voice overs and the beginning of the opener. We don't need to do reshoots because we made sure we had the scenes we wanted by the end of filming.

Title sequence

Image
We decided to use the font vouge, white as the color, and a glow style on the text. We wanted to add a drum as the O in TRIUMPHO to show the overall meaning of our film. We decided to choose this as we wanted to show a "basic" persons life.  The first image was a idea that one person liked but the whole group disagreed on. The second one was the one we all decided on as we thought it fit the vibe we were going for.

Challenges in Filming

The challenges we are facing is the time we have to film is limited as we all have sports to do. Were facing this by mainly filming right after school and everyone comes so were all pulling our own weight.
